Description Monitor the performance of Claims Assessors to ensure effectiveness and promptness in claims processing, complete documentation and files as well as adherence to standards and procedures. Assess the validity of claims against the product type, the contracts and conditions of policies. Conduct accidents surveys or assign an external surveyor and prepare the related reports. Accept claims within authority limits and referring to the Claims Manager in all claims in excess of authority limits. Ensure maximum fairness in claims assessment and settlement. Calculate claim settlement amounts. Ensure effective follow-up on documents and data required in finalizing outstanding claims. Handle inward facultative claims. Act as claims agent for the international insurance companies, ensure adherence to conditions of agreements in performing the claims service from assessment to settlement. Prepare all required statistics for outward treaties. Handle salvage and follow up on legal cases as required. Prepare reports about claims operations and statistics internally, as well as for external parties and the Group as required. Alignment with the Claims Manager, conduct performance appraisal for subordinates as well as assessing their training and development needs and arranging for their fulfillment. Assist in the training of new Claims Assessors. Support the Claims Manager in any other task/project as needed.
Qualifications University degree. At least 5 years of experience in claims assessment. General knowledge of insurance operations, products and re-insurance. Strong analytical, logical and problem solving abilities. High communication and interpersonal skills with high customer service orientation in dealing with various internal clients as well as external reinsurance companies and business partners. Good reporting skills. Good coaching and teamwork abilities. Highly motivated with an ability to handle work pressure and to meet tight deadlines. Proficient user of computer and MS office applications.
