Research and Development Manager
Brief Description:
Focal point of the research and development of Nabadat, with ultimate focus on its main project: Tahrir Academy

Scope of work:
Nabadat has Tahrir Academy as its main project for 2012. The project aims at creating a library of more than 1500 academic scripts, delivered by their R&D team.

The Research and Development Manager manages the R&D team of Nabadat, consisting of paid employees and volunteers. He/she is responsible for recruiting, developing and managing educators, creating and following up on the academic plan as well as developing the library of content of Tahrir Academy, all in accordance with project’s targets and KPIs.

Through this opportunity, you will be key to allow Nabadat (i.e. Tahrir Academy) to build the a huge library of educational content that allows the project to become the biggest online education project in Egypt and the region. You'll be able to contribute directly and indirectly to the growth and success of Nabadat, through your entrepreneurial sense, intellectual capability and ability to maximize and utilize your network and resources in the best way possible.

The crux of the role is to be the mastermind of Nabadat and Tahrir Academy; visualizing, guiding and directing the intellectual capital of the organization.

Job Description:
•Recruiting educators (i.e. Subject-matter experts and facilitators) that master content in sciences, social sciences and languages (and other fields as needed) and are able to deliver it using non-traditional methods and creative means.
•Creating, supervising and reviewing the academic plan of Tahrir Academy.
•Leading and managing the R&D team, whether full-time, part-time or volunteer.
•Supervising the content validation and review process undergone by the R&D team.
•Supervising educators’ orientation and development, undergone by the R&D team.
Job Requirements:
•Very Good command of computers, operating systems is a must.
•Comfort using internet applications, and various desktop software.
•Good command of English and Arabic language.
•Ability to create, conceptualize, innovate and review academic plans.
•Ability to effectively and efficiently communicate and report information in written format, in both Arabic and English languages.
•Team Player.
•A proven successful track record in content development.
•Quick learner, and can pick-up new tools quickly.

Research Executive
Brief Description:
The Research and Development Executive will work under the supervision of the Research & Development Manager and with a number of educators to develop educational content in the fields of sciences as one of the main pillars of Tahrir Academy.

Scope of work:
Tahrir Academy is one of Nabadat Foundation projects, a non-profit organization that fights poverty, improves education, and increases political and human-rights awareness by utilizing technology and the internet.

Tahrir Academy is a national educational initiative that works on developing a learning platform to act as a free-to-access library serving – primarily- Egyptians and Arabs, with the vision to provide an alternative, informal and creative learning system that works beyond the traditional and formal educational systems that we currently have.

The Research and Development Executive manages Tahrir Academy’s educators, whether they are paid or working as volunteers. He/she is responsible for managing educators, developing the library of content of Tahrir Academy and executing the quality control measures; all in accordance with Tahrir Academy’s methodology and innovation rules.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
•To manage Tahrir Academy’s science educators through orientation, development and communication of targets, plans, etc.
•To provide research support to Tahrir Academy’s science educators in the fields of Physics, Biology, Math, etc,.
•To be actively engaged in generating new ideas for Tahrir Academy’s content library and endorsing pedagogies that follow the highest international standards.
•To follow up on the validation and review of content, educational scripts and first cut videos.
Job Requirements:
•An experience in developing and/or scientific content is a preference.
•Very Good command of computers, operating systems is a must.
•Comfort using internet applications, and various desktop software.
•Good command of English and Arabic language.
•Ability to create, conceptualize, innovate and review academic plans.
•Ability to effectively and efficiently communicate and report information in written format, in both Arabic and English languages.
•Team Player.
•A proven successful track record in content development.
•Quick learner, and can pick-up new tools quickly.
Other qualifications:
•Good communication skills.
•Ability to take initiatives and work independently.
Special Requirements for Scientific Executives:
•A university degree in a scientific discipline is a must (Only for Scientific R&D Executives).
•Familiarity with scientific concepts is a must (Only for Scientific R&D Executives).
Special Requirements for Language Executives:
•Excellent command of at least two of the following languages in addition to Arabic, English, French, German, Spanish or Italian..
