A Marketing company with long-established operations in Maadi is looking for a PHP developer to undertake a programming assignment for one of its clients:
Position: PHP Developer
Location: Cairo, Maadi
Experience: 0 to 2 years.
PHP Developer Skills Required to be considered:
• Computer science major or any equivalent academic background. (Must be a college graduate)
• Experience in programming in standards-compliant HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and an understanding of the 'progressive enhancement' philosophy of web development.
• Thorough knowledge and experience of PHP; experience in maintaining applications written by others is highly valued.
• Familiarity with PHP MyAdmin browser-based MySQL administration software, thorough knowledge of MySQL.
• Preferred: JQuery, Zend framework, file parsing, regular expressions, web services and shell scripting.
• Experience using source code control systems (Subversion preferred).
• Experience in a structured development environment as part of a team of engineers, developers and testers.
• Source Control Management.
Qualifications:
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Ability to work individually or in team & efficiently to meet deadlines.
• Multi-tasking and ability to work under pressure.
• Creativity, imagination, open minded and strong analytical skills.
• Understanding of patterns and frameworks.
• Good verbal, written, analytical and communications skills.
• Positive, helpful and hard worker.

A Background about the Programming Project: Create a custom dispatch & scheduling system. A US based client has about 40 employees and operates 15 service teams to serve hundreds of customers, all of which are located in the United States. Client is presently using a collection of Google Spreadsheets with javascript validation to manage scheduling, employees, clients and vehicles. Client expects to double in size afterwards and anticipates that its existing system will at some point become inadequate to manage the expanding operations.
