Vacancy : Online Marketing, Content Management, Business Development and Social Media Specialists
Vacancy Tasks:
- Create website map and content for the BDS Center promotional website in both English and Arabic.
- Manage and update all content for the BDS website throughout the duration of the vacancy
- Promote the BDS website on all relevant online platforms, forums and other websites.
- Market all BDS services and the BDS website online through posting, link exchange and forums
- Create website map and content for the clients’ gallery website displaying the clients products
- Update all content for the clients gallery website on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
- Market the clients’ products displayed in the clients’ gallery website through promoting of the whole website and selected products and/or product sectors on various relevant online platforms and other related websites.
- Manage all e-commerce procedures for the clients’ gallery website on a daily base
- Coordinate with BDS team for order logistics and delivery
- Manage and update multiple social media accounts (in addition to a blog) for both the BDS and clients’ website on a daily basis
- Create meta tags, key words for search engine optimization (SEO)
- Develop relationships with websites to obtain quality links exchange
- Develop internet ads and pay-per- click campaigns on several online and social platforms
- Create content for the weekly newsletter of the BDS Center and the clients’ website
- Manage all correspondence, inquiries, orders for both websites, social media sites and newsletter
- Give four one day workshops to the BDS team on the basic concepts of online marketing, e-commerce, social media and blogging skills.
- Coach BDS team on a daily basis throughout the vacancy duration on the skills required and utilized for all above tasks.
Vacancy Duration:
This is a short-term vacancy for 3 calendar months.
Starting Date: May 1st, 2013
End Date: July 31st, 2013
full- time position for the full duration of this contract. Flexible working hours are possible and subject to arrangement with the management.

Introduction to the Business Development Services (BDS) Center:
The Business Development Services (BDS) Center was established in 2004 as a business support unit of the First MicroFinance Foundation – Egypt providing non-financial, business-supporting services to FMF-E’s beneficiaries. In 2009, the BDS Center has expanded its outreach and scope of services with grant funding from the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) under the Cairo Economic Livelihood Program (CELP).
Since 2008, the BDS has served over 9000 clients of which 76% are female. The BDS has expanded its services and is now providing five main business-supporting services to FMF-E’s borrowing clients as well to non-borrowing micro, small and medium enterprises.
Services currently provided at the BDSC are: basic business management training, business coaching, business registration and licensing, business linkages and business feasibility studies.
Background to this Vacancy:
The ultimate goals of this short-term vacancy is to take the lead on the launch of the online presence and online marketing activities of both the BDS center and the online gallery/ e-commerce platform of FMF-E’s clients from the handicrafts sector.
The candidate for this vacancy shall plan and launch the brands online, support in creating a functional system for content management and update for the created websites and online exposure forms beyond the duration of the vacancy. The consultant shall also build the capacities of the current BDS team to continue the activities started during the vacancy. This shall be realized through the tasks described in the following section ‘Tasks’.
