Description The objective of the assignment is to edit and finalize a report on Local Governance Assessment (LGA) in Fayoum Governorate. The editor should review the structure of the chapters of the report in a way that improves the coherence of the narrative and the clarity of the message that the report aims to introduce. It should also improve the language of the report, including the state of grammar, style and content. The editor is required to provide technical services in organizing and illustrating the theme and issues covered in the report as well as the initial visual design. The consultant will work under the guidance and supervision of the Local Development Observatory Director.
Qualifications • Relevant experience in writing or editing similar technical reports; proven track record experience in editing and writing in Arabic, • An advanced academic degree in political science, public administration or another relevant social science, preferably a higher degree in, or related to governance, • Familiarity with the literature on Local Governance as well as local administration system in Egypt is an advantage,

Other Skills The editor should also have demonstrated the following: • Substantive knowledge on the theme of the report, • Strong analytical skills, including in the identification of key issues and how they relate, • Ability to conceptualize problems and generate innovative, practical solutions, • Ability to plan for and produce quality results in meeting established goals, • Openness and an ability to share knowledge and experience, offer helpful advice and respond positively to critical feedback and differing points of view.
