JOB PROFILE:

With a new look, a touch-first user experience, the Windows Store and Surface - Windows is leading the way forward in the way people expect to work and play with a new generation of devices. These device experiences start with apps - when a consumer opens the box - the first thing they’ll do is search, buy and start launching apps. Our first and third-party apps must delight and surprise consumers.
With Windows 8, the Windows Stores becomes the one place for consumers to find, download and pay for the apps they love - both for the modern user experience and desktop. For app builders, it means a new paradigm for building the next generation of Windows apps. And for commercial software developers, the store enables a brand new distribution model to enterprise customers. This role - the Apps Marketing Manager - will lead the charge in building a world-class app catalog and then ensuring apps are at the center of the Windows story and marketing.
The subsidiary Apps Marketing Manager is accountable to ensuring apps are at the center of how we tell the Windows story to our customers and partners in their region. To do this well, you will deliver and execute a single Apps marketing plan that aligns to global consumer campaigns and local BG/DPE efforts around App marketing and campaigns. The subsidiary Apps Marketing Manager also provides the industry insight and app pipeline visibility to his/her leadership to meet both short and long term goals as per the subs/area respective plans.
Key aspects of app marketing include creating marketing plans for Windows, the Windows Store and our app partners, as well as collaborating well with internal and external stakeholders. In addition, this individual will understand success metrics and track performance against these metrics - for example, app downloads, consumer use and engagement in the Windows Store and payment instrument attach.
The Apps Marketing Manager will also be an expert on the app ecosystem, understanding what our competitors are doing, deriving trends based on industry data and communicating actionable recommendations to leadership.
