Description     1- Helping academic and administrative staff with various computer problems and answering questions. The assistant must be patient and considerate; assistant should be proactive not having to wait for problems to arise to fix them. 2- Creating new accounts for users, installing new software and maintaining any hardware or software within the university. 3- Assisting with various issues that may arise, such as e-mail problems, software issues, virus problems, etc. 4- Performing tasks given to them by the IT team or other computer related assignments given to them by faculty members; such as burning CDs, moving computer equipment or installing software packages
Qualifications    •A university degree or 4 years institutional degree; preferably a technical field •Minimum 2 years’ experience with software and hardware maintenance •Experience installing, configuring and repairing windows installations •Experience using Linux as an operating system or server installation

Other Skills    •Windows XP and Windows 7 •Microsoft Office Applications. •Linux experience (Red Hat, Mandrake, SuSe, etc.) •Internet Tools and various browsers •Web page authoring and design •Scanning and OCR •Network Laser Printers, inkjet printers •Projectors (data show systems) •Basic networking and network troubleshooting skills
