JOB DESCRIPTION:
As a Front End Developer, your main responsibility is for the production, modification and maintenance of websites and web application’s user interfaces. This involves working closely with designers,... in using semantic mark-up language i.e. XTMTL/CSS, to turn their static Photoshop designs into working browser based web pages. You’ll also work closely with server-side developers to implement their server-side code in order to develop complex, interactive and database driven websites. Most of the time you’ll be working with an off-the-shelf CMS, so you’ll work closely with the designers to integrate designs seamlessly into the chosen technology.
REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:
• Excellent HTML, XHTML, CSS programming skills
• Coding valid XHTML and CSS mark-up
• Experience with PHP
• Developing cross-browser and cross-platform compatible solutions
• Exceptional JavaScript programming skills
• Experience with JQuery
• Knowledge of working on mobile interfaces and all the technologies involved in it
• Knowledge of working with JavaScript frameworks to create rich interactive content
• Experience integrating with server-side code to produce dynamic pages
• Excitement about emerging web technologies such as HTML5 and CSS3
• Good understanding of Web Accessibility
• Experience working with version control systems such as SVN
• Experience building sites to at least an AA standard?
• Some experience in AJAX techniques
• Knowledge of HTML Email best practice desirable
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Creation of site layout/user interface from provided design concepts by using standard HTML/CSS practices.
• Placement and layout of web site pages given client provided content.
• Development of robust and user-friendly PHP-based web applications.
• Specifications/Requirements gathering as needed.
• Routine daily maintenance of existing sites and applications.
• Contributing to documentation (instructional, pitch and technical specification)
• Train other non-technical staff particularly designers.
• Constantly seeking to develop yourself by learning new technologies and keeping abreast of your markets developments.
DAILY TASKS:
• Assist in gathering requirements and project specifications
• Attend project kickoff meetings with other team members and leaders.
• Take ownership of daily project needs and communications.
• Communicate project status and deliverables with managers.
• PHP development per project needs.
• Manage project tasks, timelines, and communication.
• Perform routine site maintenance as needed.
• Other tasks as needed for successful project completion.
LOCATION:
This position is a full-time position based out of our office at 11-12 Mostafa Refaat, Sheraton Heliopolis.
