Description — Manage production planning staff and scheduling of material flow to meet production schedules and customer requirements — Create and maintain a master schedule that supports business forecast, including establishing lead-times, lot sizes and safety stocks. — Analyze demand requirements to identify production and supply bottlenecks and recommend actions for resolution. — Directs production planning to ensure on time availability of products to fill customer orders and on time shipments. — Conduct capacity planning and provide input to manufacturing regarding anticipated machine or manpower capacity issues. — Coordinates with purchasing department changes and updated requirements for purchased goods and materials. — Coordinate with other departments to achieve inventory goals. — Evaluates and recommends actions to improve on time delivery performance to the customer. — Responds to Customer Service, Sales and Production Management issues. — Assist manufacturing in identifying improvements related to raw material yields, capacity, energy, quality, product safety and the environment — Provide technical assistance on daily operations activities and issues
Qualifications • B.S. Mechanical Engineering • Strong safety ethic • Ability to work as an individual or in a team • Strong communications skills, both oral and written • Strong decision-making and problem solving skills • Ability to work on and balance multiple assignments and priorities • Must be able to perform work in a manufacturing environment, which includes ascending and descending stairs and ladders • Computer proficiency in MS office applications

Other Skills Previous engineering experience in manufacturing, or a related field Knowledge of batch/continuous process control techniques and unit operations, knowledge of statistics and Six-Sigma tools in a manufacturing environment
