Description — Meet with executive management to discuss the business objectives and requirements of the jobs; — Interpret the business needs and develop concepts to suit the purpose; — Estimate the time required to complete the work and develop design briefs by gathering information and data through research; — Think creatively to produce new ideas and concepts; — Use innovation to redefine design briefs within the constraints of cost & time; — Present final ideas and concepts to executive management; — Work with a wide range of media, photography and computer-aided design; — Proofread to produce accurate and high-quality work; — Contribute ideas and design artwork to the overall briefs; — — Demonstrate illustrative skills with rough sketches; — Work on layouts and artwork pages ready for print; — Keep abreast of emerging technologies in new media, particularly design programs such as QuarkXPress, FreeHand, Illustrator, Photoshop, 3ds Max, Acrobat, Director, Dreamweaver and Flash; — Develop interactive designs; Commission illustrators and photographers; — Work as part of a team with printers, copywriters, photographers, stylists, illustrators, other designers, executive management, web developers and marketing specialists.
Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree preferred in graphic design or related field • Experienced with print and web design and production • Experienced with video editing • Photo manipulation on digital images (re-size, crop, add/remove objects, and color correct) • Knowledge in updating website content • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and Dreamweaver • Must be able to present concepts in a comprehensive manner • Must be organized, reliable, detail-oriented and able to follow up on tasks • Capable of multitasking, prioritizing, managing time efficiently and meeting deadlines • Must be able to work in a professional, fast-paced and team environment • Knowledge of photography and video a plus • Knowledge of HTML, PHP, JavaScript a plus • Portfolio showing design skills
