Description Drafting , checking and perform the legal procedures for the board minutes, Ordinary and Extraordinary General assembly, powers of attorney, agreements, etc. Undertake research into legal cases to advice best course of action on legal issues. Handling the legal procedures with the following authorities; courts, prosecution office,¢police stations. Liaison with external lawyers/law firms for Legal Disputes. Maintains & develops good business relations with the Government Authority such as GAFI, Custom, etc..on all legal issues. Finalizing Expat work permits and residence visa. Update the Legal records and maintains various reports. To keep company indemnified from acts, costs & consequences arising out of legal disputes by observing govt. & Port Rules. Archiving & management of legal section files. Maintenance of a proper follow up system to ensure that legal issues are dealt with in a timely & effective fashion. Translation of all legal documents/notices where required.
Qualifications Requires a college degree in Law, at least 4 years experience in the legal field preferably in the maritime sector. Fluent in English Familiarization with Companies, Investment, civil, commercial, Maritime laws & practices. Requires a good knowledge of container terminal operations. Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills Must be familiar & comfortable with court and police stations environment. Exhibit effective negotiation skills
