Description     Director of Media Relations/North America, Office of Communications —Overseeing media relations for the University in the United States, including writing press releases and pitching events or stories to the media —Responding to media inquiries and interviews with senior administrators and faculty members —Collecting and maintaining media contacts list/database. —Communicating promptly and effectively to requests for response, research, quotes, photos, interviews and information from media contacts —Positioning faculty members as experts for the media on relevant current events —Developing and maintaining positive relationships with media representatives in local and international media —Envisioning and implementing events, speaking engagements, book signings, panels or any other vehicle for the promotion of faculty and their research —Tweeting, posting and otherwise contributing to the various social media platforms utilized by the University —Collaborating with the Cairo-based team on new social media initiatives —Monitoring and measuring the effectiveness of media relations program in the United States
Qualifications    Minimum education requirement: Bachelor’s required Experience: 3 to 7 years of professional relevant experience in the field of journalism, media relations and communications
